Destruction of the Indies

How the Spaniards treated the natives was wrong. My view is that the Spaniards wanted to take their land and show the natives that they have the authority. The Spaniards had no right to hurt and kill innocent human beings. For example, "They dismiss'd their Hands half cut, and still hanging by the skin, to carry their letters missive to those that fly from us and ly sculking on the mountains". Although, some may disagree and believe that the natives got what they deserved but, the natives lived in peace and did nothing wrong to the Spaniards, and the Spaniards invaded their land and treated them worse than animals. This issue is important because the Spaniards mistreated the natives and took what matters the most to them, their freedom.

My Writing Philosophy

Find inspiration in you writing. Bring out the true colors into your work. Once you start to show the "personalities", you become passionate to you writing. Always bring forth the best of your abilities and shine. If you do your best, your confidence will ultimately grow. When you are confident with your writing, you feel fulfilled with yourself. And always remember, never lose your inspiration.

English Composition as a Happening

The "English Composition as a Happening" by Charles Deemer is mainly about how our educational system became sour. One of the main reasons for our educational system turning south is the teachers. The teachers attitude and participation makes an enormous impact to the students. If the teachers do not want to participate in discussions or activities, the students will be in the back sleeping through class. Participation from both students and teachers makes the process of education more lively. The teachers attitude makes the class. Demmer also explains in this article that learning does not always have to be played by the books. Instead of the "traditional" way of learning, your "heart should work with the head" to make your piece of writing more in depth and poetic. Charles Deemer puts quotes after every paragraph to emphasise on the importance of the happening which is the element of suprise in teaching.

PSEC essay

Today in society, many citizens do not realize the importance of saving our environment. The only way to keep our world alive is for us humans to make an effort to save our planet. If we recycle, we will be saving our world and preserving our living environment.

Recycling keeps our planet healthy and clean and if we keep recycling, out planet will survive longer. “Seattle now recycles 44 percent of its trash compared with the national average of around 30 percent which makes it a major player in big-city waste recovery” says Michael Kennedy of the New York Times. At this rate, we will be saving our world and making an enormous difference. Every time we recycle a ton of paper, we will be saving 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, 3 yards of landfill space, 7,000 gallons of water and electricity to light a house for 6 months.

If we do not try to recycle and try not to make an effort in saving our planet, our precious planet as we know it will slowly fade away. “In many other parts of the country, recycling is in the doldrums — and in some cases backsliding — despite the sounding of environmental alarms about global warming and shrinking resource” states, Kennedy of the New York Times. Without recycling, not only will our living environment be polluted but prices of food, gas, and much more will be raised to an extremely high amount of money. “The thing I want to emphasize is the vast difference between recycling for the purpose of feeling good and recycling for the purpose of solving the trash problem” states Barry Commoner. The build up of trash will become an enormous consequence to the world if we do not help out our environment and recycle.

By recycling, you will be making a positive impact to our planet Earth. Recycling can only make our future cleaner, healthier, and longer. Make a change, go recycle.
